Where Tradition Meets Taste: The Craft Behind Biggar Gin

Nestled in the shadow of the Tinto Hills, Biggar Gin isn’t just a product—it’s a reflection of place, of people, and of the curious, bold, and slightly obsessive process behind every small batch we create. There’s something about working at a slower, more thoughtful pace that allows for better results. You taste it. And if you’re into [Scottish gin gifts](https://www.biggargin.com), you might already know what we mean.

Born in Biggar, But Not Bound By It

We’re two brothers, running a distillery in South Lanarkshire. Family business, boots on the ground, hands on the copper stills. That’s how it started. And while we’ve grown, we’ve held tightly to what made us different: our Biggar mentality. It’s an ethos built around small scale, rare batch production—but with a desire to punch above our weight in quality and character.

And yes, we make more than just gin now. Rum. Vodka. Liqueurs. But gin’s where it began—and it’s still the heart of who we are.

What Makes Our Gin Gift Boxes Special?

There’s no shortage of gin out there. We get it. Supermarket shelves are full. But what you’ll find in a Gin gift box from us is something a little more personal. We don’t outsource the craft. Every bottle—whether it’s our award-winning Biggar Strength Gin, the subtly sweet Old Tom, or the herbaceous, fresh seasonal variants—comes from a process we’ve refined over years.

We distil in small batches, using traditional copper stills. The botanicals? Local when possible. Chosen for flavour, not trendiness. And every label, box, and ribbon is packed by someone who probably lives down the road from us.

If it feels like a gift with soul—it is.

Why Choose a Scottish Gin?

Scotland might be known globally for whisky, but there’s a quiet gin revolution happening here. And Biggar is part of that wave. What sets Scottish gin apart isn’t just the water (though it helps). It’s the landscape, the foraged ingredients, and the mindset of makers who aren’t rushing to meet mass production deadlines.

From the juniper-forward classic to our experimental seasonal blends, we don’t cut corners. We’d rather sell out of a small batch than compromise what goes into it. And judging by the awards on our shelf—Gold Outstanding from IWSC, multiple Great Taste wins, and recognition from The Gin Guide—we’d say that’s been the right call.

Distillery Tours: It Tastes Better When You’ve Seen How It’s Made

There’s something about seeing the stills up close. Smelling the botanicals. Hearing the low hum of copper warming up. Our tours aren’t massive. They’re intentionally small—just six people at a time. That’s so we can actually talk to you. Answer questions. Let you sample not just what’s on the shelves but what’s in the works.

It’s not just a tasting. It’s a peek behind the curtain. And more than a few people have left with a bottle (or three) they never expected to fall for.

Beyond the Bottle

Biggar Gin has always been about more than just what’s in the glass. We care about sustainability. About sourcing thoughtfully. About giving back to our community and keeping things local where we can.

We're not interested in being the biggest. Just in being the most honest, consistent, and quietly excellent gin brand you've yet to try. Or maybe… already have.

So whether you’re looking for something for your next dinner party, a memorable birthday gift, or a quiet Friday night companion—Biggar Gin might just be it.

Crafted with purpose. Bottled with pride. Ready when you are.
